The hamlet of Miquelon lies along the shores of the O’Sullivan River linking Waswanipi and Pusticamica lakes, at the junction of highway 113 leading to Chibougamau. Algonquin Natives called this place Pakitamakak - above the mountain -. The name Miquelon was given to the hamlet in honour of Jacques Miquelon, Québec minister of Lands and Forests in 1960. You will want to admire the waterfall that flows under the old railroad and stop for a spell in Miquelon to enjoy a good restaurant meal and fill up on gas.
